E-Lexus Thornton has a Bachelor’s in Physics from Indiana University South Bend, and a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. His career interests include materials, structural analysis of aero-engine components and interplanetary space travel. His published works range from topics such as thermal modelling of titanium and nickel alloys used in gas turbine engines components to development of product sustainability indices of innovative, sustainable, new polymer materials such as LimeX. E-Lexus was born in Michigan City, Indiana and grew up moving from state-to-state. During his undergraduate years he became interested in activism and organized and took place in many protests, rallies and fundraisers for BLM and CAFE (community action for education). He also served as president of his local SPS (Society of Physics Students) and BSU (Black Student Union). After getting his Bachelor’s, E-Lexus spent a year teaching 6th grade math at Jackson Middle School in South Bend, IN before starting graduate school at the University of Kentucky where he graduated from in the spring of 2023. Currently, E-Lexus is a quality engineering specialist at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky (the world’s largest Toyota plant) where he aids in assuring the quality of manufactured vehicles such as the Camry and Rav4. His hobbies include cardio, weight training and travelling.
